New York Anime Festival 2009
I went to the New York Anime Festival this year, which was awsome. I discovered some new series and check out some very cool art. Some people went all out with the costumes from the favorite anime.
The World Cyber Games had a lot of Street Fighter 4 action going on. I got a chance to watch the Virtua Fighter 5 USA finals matches. I thought it was crazy when I saw a competitor beat an opponanet while blind folded.

Playstation 3 Slim
The PlayStation 3 Slim went on sell yesterday. I was turned off by the fat version of the PS3 because of the size and the lack of backwards compatibility, but I’m considering a PS3 Slim. It has a smaller foot print compared to the fat version, but still isn’t backwards compatible. I’m excited about it since the size was the deal breaker for me, I’m willing to keep my PS2 in order to play classic PS1 and PS2 2D fighting games on it that may never get licenced for the PlayStation Network. I really like that you get a 120GB model for $299 instead of a 80GB model fat model for the same price. It only lacks SD memory slot, compact flash slot, and an inability to load Linux. Which for the average user doesn’t matter. For myself, this going to make a great addition to my 1080P TV.

BlazBlue – Calamity Trigger
BlazBlue is probably one of the most beautiful 2D fighters created up until now. It was was released in 2008 by Arc System Works, the same developer behind Guilty Gear. The game play is very much more similar to Guilty Gear than to the 2D fighters developed by Capcom and SNK. So it is very combo driven. The backgrounds are the best I’ve ever seen. Some of the art when doing special moves is reminiscent of Full Metal Alchemist. It is available for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Mr T’s Jewelry
Mr T was a forerunner of wearing an excessive amount of jewelry. By today’s standards he still wears more individual pieces than most rappers.
He was wearing like 5 chains and I’m not talking a thin chains, but ropes around his neck before Run-DMC and Slick Rick.
Not only was his neck game on point, but he was wearing crazy big bracelets.
In this picture I’m not sure what he was thinking. Not only does he have cross medallion, but also a star of David.
Even with the huge pieces of platinum and various color diamonds todays entertainers are wearing, I do not think most can compete with Mr T when it comes to shear gaudiness.

Gucci Mane – First Day Out
One of my favorite rappers Gucci Mane is out of jail. Here is video for the Fist Day Out. He is at his best lyrically on this song, but what’s mind boggling is how much Gucci he has on. He has on a Gucci hat, Gucci sweat suit, Gucci shoes, and Gucci glasses. Then comes the amount of jewelry he is wearing. He has 3 chains around his neck, a diamond watch and some thick bracelet covered in diamonds. Like seriously WTF.
